An article about Taylor signing with Sony. (sorry about the way the picture's cut off, I'll post the whole picture under big events)

Wait, they must have dropped her in Sept/Oct? They always say they dropped her after a year.

I assume so. I don't know the exact date she signed with them or left. I'm looking into that because I want to find out the exact date she signed with Sony too, if it's different from the date of the article. And it's alright, if I can find the disc, I can probably fix it. The good news about all my Taylor pictures is that I backed them all up on my photobucket. Even some I might not have posted on here yet and I just found like seriously 100 + more rare pictures of her last night and today on a rare pictures thread on a fan website I recently discovered. So I'll post those as soon as I'm done looking through all 264 pages of the thread. lol It's not that bad though, I'm already on page 100. The thread is over 4 years old and Jessica Cook (aka aussiemiley/taylorfan) has a LOT of rare pictures of her (I got most of this site's pictures from her photobucket), that's why. :) -Alyssa

You see how it says FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE on the top? That means that the article was put out specifically for that week/month. If she had been signed earlier, it would have been put out earlier. She WAS signed to BMI in April 2004 though. They were the ones who sent her to the Bluebird. Sony wasn't associated with her until early May. Troy Verges is a Sony/ATV writer for RCA. The reason Sony owns M&B is because he co-wrote it. Though, Troy was the one to 'talk up' Taylor to Sony. Sony signed her a month after she left RCA. She signed RCA in April 2004 and signed Sony May 2005.

Ok, I believe you about that because I can't find anything from any earlier saying she was signed with them (I still don't understand why she always says 14 but maybe she met them at 14 before she was signed) and I believe you that she signed with BMI in 2004 (except it was March) because I have the picture (it was BMI she was signing with, not Dan) but she actually signed with RCA in September 2003 (Sorry I think it was actually June 2004 that I saw it on her website but I think it was the last time it said that or something so it made me think June 2003 might've been when she got it but now I can't check to make sure) and with Dan around that time I believe (she sang at the US tennis open in 2002 and 2003 and that's how he found out about her, those are held from late August to early September so getting her signed with RCA was probably the first thing he did after signing her). It says so in the No longer an outsider article. It talks about how she had the development deal and says she signed it in September and the article is from August 2004. I'm going to post that soon by the way, I'm just going to have to do it from someone else's computer since mine crashed yesterday. :/ -Alyssa

On Dan's management website archives, it basically maps out Taylor's career. :)
